Terms of Use for Fast AAC

Welcome to Fast AAC! By downloading, accessing, or using the Fast AAC application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or guardian to use the App. You also agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
2. License to Use the App
Fast AAC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to download and use the App in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except to the extent such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Use the App for any unlawful or harmful purposes.
- Share, rent, or sublicense the App to others.
3. Device Storage and Backups
Your boards, settings, and imported media are stored locally on your device. Fast AAC does not upload this content to its own servers. We do not host user accounts or cloud backups. You are solely responsible for securing your device and managing any device-level backups of your app settings or data. Fast AAC is not liable for any loss of data resulting from device failure, loss, or unauthorized access to your device.
4. Privacy
Fast AAC respects your privacy. Optional YouTube features connect to YouTube to load videos and thumbnails. YouTube/Google may process information in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy at https://fastaac.com/privacy-policy for more information.
5. App Features and Accuracy
Fast AAC offers a range of features designed to enhance communication. While we strive to ensure the functionality of the App, Fast AAC does not guarantee that:
- The App will be entirely error-free or uninterrupted.
- Predicted words, phrases, or suggestions will always be accurate or appropriate for every situation.
- The App will meet your specific medical, educational, or communication needs.
Fast AAC is a communication aid and is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, educational, or clinical advice.
6. Intellectual Property
All content within the App, including but not limited to custom images, tiles, code, text, layouts, and overall design, is the property of Fast AAC and its licensors. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of these materials is strictly prohibited. User-imported media and third-party content remain the property of their respective rights holders and are excluded from this ownership claim.
7. Limitation of Liability
Fast AAC is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fast AAC, its developers, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or the inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising out of your use of the App must be brought exclusively in the courts located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
9. Modifications to the App and Terms
Fast AAC reserves the right to update or modify the App and these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Termination
We may terminate the license granted under these Terms if you violate them. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies in your possession.
11. YouTube and Other Media
Use of the optional YouTube features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms, which you agree to by using those features. Parents, guardians, caregivers, or professionals setting up videos for children should review the selected content for suitability and supervise its use. Fast AAC does not endorse or control third-party videos, advertisements, or recommendations, and cannot guarantee their suitability or continued availability.
Only import or share media that you have the right to use or share.
